Tesla to open first facility in SC. Here’s where and what’s planned

Tesla will open a facility in Fountain Inn sometime early this year to distribute vehicle parts regionally.

The investment amount was not revealed in a news release Thursday from Greenville Area Development Corporation.

The center in the Fox Hill Business Park will not include manufacturing., the release said.

This is the first Tesla facility in South Carolina.

It will be located in the 251,100-square foot building 3. The park ultimately will include 2.5 million square feet for manufacturing, distribution and warehouses on 172 acres.

The Sudler Companies of Chatham, New Jersey, is developing the park. The company also worked with Tesla on a similar project near Tampa, Florida in 2023.

“Access to world-class labor, a friendly business environment, quality of life and proximity to more than 90 million people within one day’s drive combine to make Greenville County the vital and dynamic area it is known to be,” Brian Sudler, principal with The Sudler Companies, said in the news release.

Sage Parts Plus, which makes replacement parts for aviation ground support equipment, opened a distribution center and global headquarters in Fox Hill Business Park in mid-2023.

“The addition of the Tesla brand to Greenville’s business ecosystem is another example of the important role that speculative development plays in today’s competitive environment, and exactly why Greenville County was so supportive of The Sudler Companies and Fox Hill Business Park,” said Kevin Landmesser, interim CEO of the Greenville Area Development Corporation.
