Service restored to Trinity Metro TEXRail, Trinity Railway Express following interruption

Technical issues affecting Trinity Metro TEXRail and Trinity Railway Express on Saturday morning have been resolved, and service has been restored, officials said.

Trinity Metro TEXRail and Trinity Railway Express suspended service for a while Saturday morning due to a network outage affecting dispatch systems, the transportation company’s officials said in a press release.

A fiber cable that was cut near a data center in Kansas City, Missouri, is to blame for the outage, according to the release. The network outage affected the dispatch system for both railways.

“Without this critical system in place, both commuter railroads have suspended service,” the release said. “Operations management is working diligently to resolve the issue and determine a timeline in which trains can safely resume service.”

A fixed-route bus provided limited service during the outage, according to the release. Trinity Metro ENVOY staff were on site to assist customers, and impacted customers could call the Trinity Metro Customer Care line at 817-215-8600.
