Three 15-year-old boys killed when their car crashes into Missouri home, police say
Three teenagers died when the car they were in crashed into a home in Missouri, police told news outlets.
The three 15-year-old boys were in University City, about 10 miles west of St. Louis, when the driver failed to turn on a left curve, causing the car to crash into a home, according to a crash report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
All three teens were declared dead at the scene. The report says the driver was “traveling too fast for conditions” when the crash happened just after 7 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6.
One of the 15-year-olds was driving the car, according to the report.
“There is no set way for any person to grieve and process. We should expect and understand that there will be a variety of emotions and responses to what has occurred,” a letter sent out to parents by the Ladue School District said, according to KTVI.
Cpl. Dallas Thompson with the Missouri State Highway Patrol said the home was vacant, according to KSDK.
Highway Patrol confirmed to the news outlet the Hyundai Accent the boys were in belonged to one of the boy’s parents.
“While it is only natural to question the circumstances that led to this, we are leaving the investigation in the hands of local law enforcement, and we remain sensitive to the privacy of those grieving,” the letter from the school says, according to KTVI.
The identities of the victims have not been released, KTVI reported.
