Three people dead after single vehicle crash Thursday night in Russell County

Three people are dead following a Thursday night crash involving one vehicle in Russell County, according to Russell County Coroner Arthur Sumbry Jr.

Sumbry said the crash occurred Thursday night in Villula, Alabama, near mile marker 94 on Highway 431. Villula is about 20 miles away from Columbus, just across the state line.

Two men, ages 18 and 20, along with one woman, age 20, were pronounced dead at the scene at 10:45 p.m., according to Sumbry.

The identities of the victims were not released Friday morning.

Sumbry said speed and alcohol appeared to be possible factors in the crash.
