VANCOUVER — Quinn Hughes couldn't quite find the words to describe his emotions Monday night. The sting of losing Game 7 to the Edmonton Oilers on home ice was still washing over the Vancouver Canucks captain. "Hard to reflect," he told reporters. "I'm kind of just trying to take it all in right now." After falling behind 3-0 in the second period, the Canucks clawed out a pair of late goals in the third period, then pushed hard for a last-minute equalizer. The bid fell short and Vancouver droppe

A Kentucky court has postponed pro golfer Scottie Scheffler's appearance on charges he injured a police officer and disobeyed commands outside the gates of Valhalla Golf Club as the venue hosted this year's PGA Championship. Scheffler, who was handcuffed and briefly jailed on Friday, had been due in court Tuesday, two days after finishing in the top ten at the PGA. “Today, over the objection of Jefferson County Attorney Mike O’Connell, the District Judge presiding in the case of Mr. Scheffler granted the defendant’s attorney’s motion to continue Mr. Scheffler’s arraignment from May 21 to June 3 at 9 a.m.," the statement said.

DENVER (AP) — The biggest factor in the direction of the Colorado Avalanche's offseason plans may just hinge on trust. Trust in whether captain Gabriel Landeskog can make a comeback after missing two full seasons with a knee injury. Trust also in whether Valeri Nichushkin can be counted on after leaving in the middle of a second straight postseason for off-the-ice issues. President Joe Sakic and general manager Chris MacFarland face some hard decisions after the Avalanche saw their season come t
DALLAS (AP) — Daniel Gafford remembers facing Karl-Anthony Towns, Rudy Gobert and company about two weeks before he was traded to the Dallas Mavericks this season. That memory alone is enough for the 6-foot-10 center to know the challenge that's coming when the Western Conference finals start Wednesday night at the Minnesota Timberwolves. Make that the towering Timberwolves, even for Gafford and 7-1 rookie Dereck Lively II. “It was for sure a rough game, going against Rudy under the basket, KAT
NEW YORK (AP) — Jalen Brunson carried the New York Knicks as far as he could, until he ended up like so many of his teammates. He broke his left hand Sunday in the second half of Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, one final injury for a team that was decimated by them. Four key players were already unavailable by then, leaving the Knicks unable to slow down an Indiana Pacers team that was the highest-scoring team in the NBA and one that was far deeper. The Pacers won 130-109. “I’m prou

NEW YORK (AP) — Jalen Brunson's postseason, one of the best ever by a New York Knicks player, had ended one quarter earlier because of a broken left hand. Julius Randle's season had been over for months already because of a separated shoulder, and three more key players had been lost in between. REGINA — Corey Mace picked up a victory in his first game as head coach of the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Monday, but he believes it was just the first of many steps forward the team needs to take to reach his expectations. Busch had wrecked Stenhouse on the second lap of the $1 million race Sunday night in a move that looked like retaliation for how Stenhouse had raced him earlier.
