Tobacco sales to minors below national average in Charlottetown

Charlottetown tobacco sellers are doing better than the national average in complying with laws preventing sales to minors, according to a Health Canada survey.

Secret shoppers were sent into stores in 30 cities across the country over five months in 2014 for the survey. Two people, one underage and one of age, tried to buy tobacco.

Charlottetown sellers met the rules 93 per cent of the time. That's better than the national average of 85 per cent.
