Tommy Josephee, 27, charged in Iqaluit's weekend standoff

An Iqaluit man faces three charges following an armed standoff at Creekside Village over the weekend.

The incident began late Friday night in a housing unit in the Creekside Village development also known as White Row. It was the second armed standoff in the community in the space of a week.

It ended 12 hours later without injury.

Tommy Josephee has been charged with possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, public mischief, and uttering threats.

Police have not said what type of weapon was involved in the incident.
