Toronto police seek 3 men in 2 armed Kijiji robberies

Toronto police say they are looking for three men after two armed robberies in which men responded to Kijiji ads, were escorted into condo buildings and were robbed of their belongings.

In both cases, the victims responded to ads to buy laptops. In one case, a victim was injured in the robbery.

Police said in a news release that both robberies occurred on the evening of March 6.

Both robberies involved weapons

In the first robbery, a 22-year-old man answered a Kijiji ad to buy a laptop computer. He was told to go to a condo address in the area of in the Fort York Boulevard and Bathurst Street.

A man who met him escorted him inside a building. Another man pushed him into a secluded area. One man produced a knife and the victim was robbed of his belongings.

Police received a call about that robbery at 8:20 p.m.

In the second robbery, a 39-year-old man answered a Kijiji ad to buy a laptop. He was told to meet the seller outside a building in the Lake Shore Boulevard West and Mimico Avenue area.

A man met him and escorted him into a nearby condo building. Another man who had a weapon struck him from behind. Both men produced guns.

The victim was led to a stairwell, where he was robbed of his belongings.

Police received a call about that robbery at 9:45 p.m.

Suspects from Ajax and Binbrook

In the release, police said they are seeking an Ajax man, 24, as a suspect in both incidents, and a Binbrook, Ont. man, 24, as a suspect in the second incident.

The Ajax man is wanted for: robbery with an offensive weapon; forcible confinement; robbery with a firearm; point firearm; assault causing bodily harm.

He is described as six foot to six foot two, about 170 to 200 lbs., with a medium build, brown eyes, short black hair and a black goatee.

The Binbrook man is wanted for: robbery with a firearm; point firearm; assault causing bodily harm.

He is described as five foot nine, 160 lbs., with a thin build, short black curly hair, and a clean-shaven face.

A third suspect is described as being five foot nine, between 20 to 30 years of age, with a medium build, short black hair, and a clean-shaven face. He was wearing a black shirt and black pants.

Armed and dangerous

They are all considered armed and dangerous, and police advise anyone who sees them to not approach and call 911 immediately.
