John Walsh is back again for the fifth season of In Pursuit with John Walsh — where the renowned victims' rights advocate tracks down fugitives and searches for missing children.

In the premiere episode, Walsh puts a spotlight on 47-year-old fugitive Larry Hicks, who is wanted for the 2022 murder of a Plattsburgh, N.Y., woman.

Meanwhile, Callahan Walsh, who joined his father as the show's co-host in 2019, travels to Texas to bring attention to the case of fugitive Steven Leifeste, who was captured by authorities on January 26, 2024, in Moore. He is facing multiple charges including sexual assault of a child under 17.

The premiere episode, Road Trip Killer, airs on Wed., May 8. An exclusive clip is shown below.

The new season will also delve into the murder of a much-loved family man in Florida, put the spotlight on an online predator who seeks out his young victims on social media, and go inside the hunt for an alleged crypto con artist on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list.

Walsh and his crew also bring attention to the gun violence epidemic that is ravaging some neighborhoods in Chicago, examining the unsolved killings of two men who were gunned down there.

According to ID, In Pursuit with John Walsh has helped nab and identify more than 50 fugitives and find scores of missing children.

“John Walsh carries forward his lifelong mission to track down fugitives from justice, find missing children and empower the public to help support a more effective and accountable criminal justice system,” states an ID press release.

Walsh's son Adam, 6, was kidnapped after wandering into the toy department of a Sears store in Hollywood, Fla., on July 27, 1981, while his mother, Revé, shopped nearby. Adam’s decapitated head was found two weeks later in a canal in Vero Beach, Fla., 130 miles north of where John and Revé lived at the time.

The case remained unsolved until 2008, when convicted serial killer Ottis Toole was identified as Adam's killer. Toole had confessed to the crime but died in prison.

In Pursuit with John Walsh premieres on Wednesday, May 8 at 10/9c on ID.
