Travis and Taylor Are Going to the Super Bowl!

Never in our wildest dreams did we think the Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce football season would last this long, but here we are!

The Kansas City Chiefs beat the Baltimore Ravens during Sunday’s AFC Championship game. The Chiefs will go on to compete in the Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 11 in Las Vegas. While Swift is set to perform in Tokyo on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 6 pm local time, the pop star reportedly still has time to make it to Allegiant Stadium ahead of kick-off. Some reports are even saying she may, in fact, already be planning her trip.

Ahead of her possible Super Bowl appearance, let’s pay homage to our favorite season of football, yet! (In fact, some of us didn’t even know what football was until this season thanks to Swift!)

NFL TV coverage has chronicled the stratospheric relationship between Swift and Kelce since she attended her first Chiefs game on September 24 of last year. Her appearance shocked Swifties and NFL fans alike, seemingly hard-launching a relationship that had only been rumored — and frankly, seemed pretty unlikely — until that point.

We found out much later that their budding relationship was already well underway.

“This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell. We started hanging out right after that,” Swift told Time in an interview tied to her status as their Person of the Year. “So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other. By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard-launch a first date.”

From that moment on, Swift captivated the attention of NFL commentators, fans and TV viewers. She went on to attend a total of 11 games ahead of Sunday’s AFC Championship. In October, she notably brought along celeb pals Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, and she most recently attended the divisional playoffs with a shirtless Jason Kelce.

TVLine’s own Kim Roots dubbed the pop icon’s sudden interest in the NFL the Fall TV drama we never knew we needed; Swift became one of our top scene stealers of 2023; and she prompted NBC’s Carson Daly to explain the rules to Swifties who might have been tuning into a sport they’d never seen before.

So how could Swift ever make it to the game on time with an international concert the night before? Two words: time zones! Since Tokyo is 14 hours ahead of Las Vegas, if she leaves Japan right after her concert wraps up, a 10-12 hour flight would put her in Las Vegas around 8-10 pm ET. It remains to be seen, however, if such drastic measures will be taken since the pop star has already committed to a grueling Eras Tour schedule, performing many shows back-to-back. Her next show, however, isn’t until the following week, on Friday, Feb. 16 in Melbourne Australia.

So while we’re crossing our fingers that the singer will make the trip, if she doesn’t make it, our TVs surely will be left with a Swift-sized blank space. But since Kelce’s football season is coming to an end, might he accompany Swift on the rest of her Eras Tour? We can only hope! If we’re lucky, the iconic pop star might even grace our TV screens again next season.

Do you think Swift will make an appearance at the Super Bowl? Let us know in the comments!
