Trent Reznor, Billy Corgan, More to Play Virtual David Bowie Tribute Festival

A David Bowie tribute concert starring Trent Reznor, Billy Corgan, Gary Oldman, Perry Farrell, Macy Gray, and more will stream live on January 8, 2021, celebrating the late artist’s 74th birthday. Organized by longstanding Bowie pianist Mike Garson, “A Bowie Celebration: Just for one day!” corrals a host of Bowie collaborators from across his career to cover and reinterpret his songs. Tickets start at $20.

Other guests include Lena Hall, Bush’s Gavin Rossdale, Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott, and the Cult’s Ian Astbury, as well as Bowie’s longtime producer Tony Visconti and collaborators including his full final touring band of Garson, Gail Ann Dorsey, and others.

Garson said in a press release: “What we’re planning is an amazing show with the most talented musicians from every period of David’s career, as well as phenomenal artists from many different genres. We’ll hear different interpretations of David’s songs; some with totally new arrangements that have never been heard before.”

The event begins at 9 p.m. Eastern and will be available to watch for the 24 hours following broadcast.
