True Detective to Stream Early on Max Ahead of Super Bowl LVIII — Find Out When
Danvers and Navarro’s cases are continuing a little earlier than expected this week: True Detective’s penultimate Season 4 episode will start streaming on Max Friday, Feb. 9 at 9/8c, TVLine has learned. The episode will still air in its regular time slot Sunday night at 9/8c on HBO.
The early streaming option is due to a little sports game you may have heard of: Super Bowl LVIII. Looking at the ratings for Super Bowls past, it’s a smart move. The past five Super Bowl games drew 115.1 million total viewers (Chiefs 38, Eagles 35 in 2023), 112.3 million viewers (Rams 23, Bengals 10), 101.6 million (Bucs 31, Chiefs 9), 118.5 million (Chiefs 31, 49ers 30) and 113.6 million (Patriots 13, Rams 4). In a TVLine reader poll, 39% think Chiefs-49ers on Feb. 11 will deliver a “little bigger” audience, while 44% think Super Bowl 58 will draw a “lot bigger” audience.
