AEW has some big news to share next week but ahead of the huge announcement, two former champions have returned to television.

Last night's edition of Dynamite (May 10) saw AEW boss Tony Khan get two surprise visitors to his office — former TNT Champion Miro and former Women's Champion Thunder Rosa.

Miro hasn't been seen on AEW television since September 2022 when he teamed with Darby Allin and Sting at the All Out pay-per-view to take on the House of Black.

Over the past few months, it has been reported that Miro was unhappy with the creative that had been presented to him following All Out and that was the reason behind his absence from television.

Rosa last wrestled for AEW in August 2022, defeating Jamie Hayter at Battle of the Belts. She then revealed she could no longer defend her AEW Women's Championship due to an injury, with an Interim Women's Championship being created in her absence.

Then in November, AEW announced Rosa had relinquished her championship and former interim champion Toni Storm would be retroactively recognised as Women's Champion.

Since her absence from TV, Rosa has been commentating as part of AEW's Spanish announce team. Her injuries and the fallout from her championship reign are currently being documented on AEW's reality show All Access.

On Dynamite, both Miro and Rosa were shown entering Khan's office but there was no follow-up with either of them.

Instead, Khan did a backstage promo where he stated: "In addition to all the great wrestlers and great wrestling you’re going to see tonight, in the back there are literally stars lined up looking for chances to wrestle in AEW.

"I think it’s clearer than ever that AEW can produce even more great content every week. I’d like you to stay tuned to TNT next Wednesday for a huge announcement, and please join us next Wednesday, here on AEW Dynamite, where we will follow up on one of the most important announcements ever in the history of AEW."

Next Wednesday (May 17) is the Warner Bros Upfront where it is expected that a new, weekly AEW TV show will be announced. The show will reportedly be called Collision and will air on Saturdays.

Catch AEW Dynamite live every Thursday at 1am in the UK and Rampage every Saturday at 3am on FITE with an AEW Plus subscription. US customers can also watch Dynamite on TBS and Rampage on TNT, and in the UK, Dynamite repeats air on ITV4.
