Two people killed following two-vehicle crash at busy Fresno intersection, police say

Two people were killed early Sunday following a two-vehicle collision west of Highway 99.

Officers responded shortly after 2 a.m. to Clinton and Marks avenues after the crash involving a truck and a sedan.

Fresno police Lt. Marcus Gray said officers arrived and began rendering aid to the victims.

The drivers were pronounced dead and a third person had minor injuries.

Police said the truck was going west on Clinton when the driver hit a car that was southbound on Marks.

The driver of the car is a man in his 60s and the truck driver is a 40-year-old man.

An investigation was ongoing to determine who caused the collision, Gray said.

The area around the intersection was shut down for the investigation but it has reopened.

It was unknown if alcohol was a factor, Gray said.
