U.S.-born Saskatchewan residents watching election closely

Some Saskatchewan residents are watching today's United States elections with particular interest.

They're American-born residents of the province, some just here temporarily, others who are now Canadian citizens.

Among the expats is Claudia Manning, who's originally from Seattle, Wa., but now lives in Saskatoon.

Manning voted early three weeks ago. Now, on election day, she's waiting to see how her presidential choice, Democrat Barack Obama, does against his Republican challenger Mitt Romney.

"I voted for him because he states what I want the country to be about," Manning said.

There are election night parties planned in Regina and Saskatoon.
