"Ukraine's armed forces continue to progress in the liberation of Kharkiv Oblast, but the occupiers in Donbas are trying to increase pressure,” Zelensky said.

“It's hell there, and that's no exaggeration. The brutal and absolutely senseless bombing of Sievierodonetsk…There were 12 dead and dozens wounded in just one day.”

According to the president, the bombing and shelling of cities, air and missile strikes by the Russians are more than just hostilities during war.

"Russian strikes on the Chernihiv Oblast, in particular the terrible blow on Desna where the inspection of the aftermath is ongoing, with many casualties; constant strikes on Odesa Oblast, on the cities of central Ukraine, the Donbas is completely destroyed — all this has no and cannot have any military explanation for Russia,” Zelensky said.

“This is a deliberate and criminal attempt to kill as many Ukrainians as possible. Destroy as many houses, social facilities, and enterprises as possible.”

He added that these Russian acts amount to genocide, and vowed that the perpetrators would face justice.
