European countries will have to expand their arms production as U.S. military aid on its own will not be enough to enable Ukraine to win the war against Russia, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said in an interview with The Guardian on April 24.

“No single [aid] package can stop the Russians,” said Kuleba.

“What will stop the Russians is a united front of all of Ukraine and all of its partners.”

According to him, the West must increase its defense production, just as Ukraine has done. The minister pointed out that the force ratio between Russia and Ukraine is approximately 10 to one, while Ukraine lacks anti-aircraft missile systems.

“When I see what Russia achieved in building up its defense industrial base in two years of the war and what the west has achieved, I think something is wrong on the part of the West,” he added.

“The West has to realize the era of peace in Europe is over.”

On April 24, the United States announced a $1 billion security assistance package for Ukraine, following a six-months-long delay in Congressional approval for aid funding.
