Vandals use power tools to cut down speed cameras
Two speed cameras have been damaged after being cut down by vandals using power tools, police said.
Officers arrived at Edge Lane in Chorlton, Manchester, at about 23:10 BST to find suspects riding away on electric bikes.
On Wednesday at about 00:15 a speed camera was cut in half in Errwood Road, Burnage.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) Insp Paul Wall said the incidents were "really disappointing".
Insp Wall said: "The speed cameras which have been damaged were requested by the local community to help reduce levels of serious injury caused by speeding at locations of high-risk routes close to schools, shops or public parks."
The suspect involved in the Burnage incident was last seen running into Cringle Fields towards the McVitie's factory, police said.
Officers are working with Transport for Greater Manchester and Manchester City Council to repair the damaged speed cameras.
GMP is urging anyone with any information to get in touch with the force.
