Heavy Snowfall Accumulates in Northwest Texas

Heavy and wet snow came down on parts of Texas on Tuesday morning, January 24, accumulating several inches in Lubbock and deteriorating road conditions, the National Weather Service reported.

Chris Due said he filmed this footage on the west side of Lubbock Tuesday morning.

According to the NWS, a weather observer in Roaring Springs measured 6 inches of snow accumulation as of 8:30 am. The snow “will continue to diminish in coverage and intensity through late morning,” the NWS said.

The NWS said that Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport had received 4.8" of snow from 12 am through 6 am on Tuesday, beating the previous January 24 record, which was 2.9" of snow, set in 1961. Credit: Chris Due via Storyful

[ELLIE GOULDING, "BRIGHTEST BLUE"] In the odyssey, even in the calmest seas. Now it's all I want to be, a semi-precious mystery. Yeah, I love me more than you. Doesn't mean I can't be true. Slip into the blue lagoons. I could be your muse. Times are hard. People scarred. We don't know if we're going to fight. Break a heart. Play a card. We just came along for the ride. But in the dark, you're the spark. See the future when I look in your eyes. 'Cause you've given me, you give me, you give me.
