“The View” crew member appears to knock over Christmas set decor live on air

Cohosts Alyssa Farah Griffin and Sunny Hostin became a mini disaster-relief team, picking up fallen debris before hitting the Hot Topics table.

The View cohosts Alyssa Farah Griffin and Sunny Hostin had to spring into action as a mini disaster-response team after a crew member appeared to knock over the talk show's Christmas set decor live on the air.

The great Griffin-Hostin relief efforts of 2023 began at the top of Friday's episode, as the former White House communications staffer led the ladies out on their usual path to the Hot Topics table. As Griffin waved to the audience, she turned to the camera with a shocked look on her face before bending down to pick up a plant that a camera operator filming her seemed to have knocked over.

Following Griffin's lead, Hostin bent down to pick up a white material that lined the floor of the stage with the toppled poinsettia.

Joy Behar, the View's fill-in moderator on Whoopi Goldberg's weekly day off, began the show without referencing the moment as she walked to set several steps behind the Griffin-Hostin response unit.

A representative for The View did not immediately respond to EW's request for comment.

The View's set transformed into a winter wonderland earlier this week and will remain in festive drag through the end of the year.

The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET on ABC.
