Here are the nominees for the Deer Park high school football offensive player of the week in the Charlotte-area. The winner will receive a trophy from Deer Park.

This week’s nominees

Brody Barnhardt, Providence Day: Senior, committed to N.C. State, played two quarters in Friday’s 47-7 win at Asheville. He had 11 tackles, plus four carries for 30 yards and a touchdown, a kick return for 35 yards and a catch for 15.

Ryan Bassani, North Lincoln: linebacker had 18 tackles and two tackles for a loss Friday. For the season, he’s got 42 tackles.

Chris Clark, Nick Reddish, Bryce Lofton, Independence: three Patriots had interception returns — on consecutive possessions — in a 75-49 win over Hickory Ridge Friday.

Dequadre Currence, Butler: in a blowout win over Richmond Senior, Currence had 5 punt returns for a 35.2 yard average and two TDs. He also had two carries for 30 yards.

Nio Espinosa, Butler: the senior outside linebacker had six total tackles in 50-13 win over Richmond Senior. He had two tackles for a loss, a sack plus a force fumble and two blocked punts, one of which resulted in a safety.

Jackson Forrest, Northwest Cabarrus: junior linebacker had 15 tackles, seven tackles for a loss and a sack in Friday’s 30-19 win over AL Brown.

AJ Graham, Mooresville: two interceptions, including one in the end zone in the fourth quarter of a 14-13 win over Reagan. Graham also recovered an onside kick with two minutes left in the game.

Javyion Knox, North Gaston: had 12 tackles, three of them for a loss in Friday’s 10-6 win over Bessemer City. On offense, Knox rushed 16 times for 101 yards.

Gabe McLaurin, Concord: in a 28-14 win over Mount Pleasant, McLaurin had 13.5 tackles, a team-high.

LJ Porter, Charlotte Christian: 20 tackles, two pass deflections and a forced fumble in a come-from-behind 34-13 win over Catawba Ridge (SC).

Khiyale Washington, Mountain Island Charter: 12 tackles, one tackle for loss and one sack in a 24-21 win over Charlotte Latin.

Billy Wilkes, Providence: 11 tackles in three quarters during Friday’s 47-0 win over South Mecklenburg.
