Below are the nominees for The Herald’s high school athlete of the week.

You may vote as often as you like. Poll results may not always be shown. Due to technical issues, the poll from last week is available to be voted on as well since we could not pull the accurate number of votes.

Karis Alexander, Clover girls’ basketball: The 5-foot-9 senior scored 19 points, had two rebounds, two assists, four steals and two blocks in a 73-62 loss at Blythewood, Feb. 2.

Alexander also scored 17 points to go with eight rebounds and four steals in a 63-59 loss at Spring Valley, Jan. 30.

Alexander is averaging 10.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.6 steals per game for Clover (15-8) this season.

Jackson Burnham, Nation Ford boys’ basketball: The 6-foot-3 senior scored 20 points and had six rebounds in a 66-57 win over Blythewood, Jan. 30.

Burnham also scored 19 points and had three assists in a 63-53 win over Rock Hill, Feb. 2.

Burnham is averaging 21.7 points and 4.4 rebounds for Nation Ford (12-11) this season.

Brianna Cook, Legion Collegiate girls’ basketball: The 5-foot-11 senior scored 11 points and had 12 rebounds in a 45-35 win at Atlantic Collegiate Academy, Jan. 30.

Cook also scored two points, had five rebounds and four assists in a 51-31 loss to Rabun Gap Nacoochee, Feb. 1.

Cook is averaging 3.1 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game for Legion Collegiate (7-12) this season.

De’Ashaj Crawford, Rock Hill girls’ basketball: The 5-foot-6 senior scored 19 points, grabbed four rebounds, three assists and four steals in a 54-30 win over Fort Mill, Jan. 30.

Crawford followed that up with 28 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals in a 77-45 victory at Nation Ford, Feb. 2.

Crawford is averaging 16.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.7 steals per game for a Rock Hill team (21-3) that has won 15 consecutive games this season.

Landyn Green, Northwestern wrestling: The Trojans’ senior moved up from 165 to the 175 weight class and got a win over a ranked opponent to lead Northwestern to a 63-12 win over Aiken in the second round of the 4A state playoffs, Feb. 3.

Green is 19-14 overall for Northwestern (19-2) this season.

Zyan Hager, Catawba Ridge boys’ basketball: The 6-foot-2 senior scored 21 points in a 75-45 win over York, Jan. 31.

Hager also scored 17 points in a 66-56 victory over Lancaster, Feb. 2.

Hager is averaging 19.3 points per game for Catawba Ridge (21-2) this season.

Mike Jones, Indian Land boys’ basketball: The 5-foot-10 sophomore scored 30 points and had five rebounds in an 88-48 win over York, Jan. 29.

Jones scored 20 points to lead Indian Land to a 53-50 win at Northwestern, Jan. 30.

Jones finished off the week with 22 points in a 57-53 victory at South Pointe, Feb. 2.

Jones is averaging 25 points per game for Indian Land (18-6) this season.

Victoria Morris, South Pointe girls’ basketball: The 5-foot-11 senior scored 15 points, had six rebounds and two assists in a 61-46 victory at Lancaster, Jan. 30.

Morris also scored 23 points, grabbed five rebounds, 11 steals and one assist in a 77-21 win over Indian Land, Feb. 2.

Morris is averaging 17.5 points, 9.9 rebounds, 3.8 steals and 1.8 assists for South Pointe (22-2) this season.

Logan Parker, Fort Mill boys’ basketball: The 6-foot junior scored 22 points, had three rebounds, two assists and a steal in a 65-62 win over Spring Valley, Feb. 2.

Parker also scored six points, had five rebounds and five assists in a 53-50 loss at Rock Hill, Jan. 30.

Parker is averaging 9.7 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists for Fort Mill (14-10) this season.

Tamia Watkins, Andrew Jackson girls’ basketball: The 6-foot-2 junior scored 41 points, had 13 rebounds, six steals, a block and an assist in an 88-27 win at North Central, Feb. 2.

Watkins also scored 29 points, had 11 rebounds, five steals and three blocks in an 88-35 victory at Central Pageland, Jan. 31.

The previous night, Watkins scored 23 points, had 11 rebounds, three steals and three blocks in a 74-20 win over Buford.

Watkins is averaging 26.1 points, 11.1 rebounds, 4.6 steals, 3.1 assists and two blocks per game for an Andrew Jackson team (20-4) that has won 14 straight games this season.
