Below are the nominees for The Herald’s high school athlete of the week.

Serenity Davis, Rock Hill girls’ wrestling: The Bearcats’ junior won the 105-pound title at the 5A state championships at Anderson Civic Center, Feb. 24.

Davis, who was 40-1 overall this season, also helped the Rock Hill girls’ wrestling team to their second consecutive, 5A state championship (team) at the same meet.

Jarrett Eubanks, Catawba Ridge boys’ wrestling: The Copperheads’ senior went 3-0 with a pin to win the 4A state title at 175 pounds at the Anderson Civic Center, Feb. 24.

Eubanks, who was 56-1 this season, finishes his high school wrestling career at 154-24 overall with 103 career pins.

Omadeah Ford, Rock Hill girls’ basketball: The 5-foot-5 senior scored five points, had three rebounds, one block and one steal in a 51-33 win at Mauldin in third round of the 5A state playoffs, Feb. 19.

Ford also scored four points, had two rebounds, and two steals in a 52-50 victory over J.L. Mann in the 5A Upper State Championship game, Feb. 23.

Ford is averaging 4.1 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game for a Rock Hill team (27-3) that has now won 21 straight games this season.

Zyan Hager, Catawba Ridge boys’ basketball: The 6-foot-2 senior scored 25 points, grabbed three rebounds and two assists in a 63-61 loss at Riverside in the third round of the 4A state playoffs, Feb. 22.

Hager averaged 19.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.7 steals per game for a Catawba Ridge squad that finished the season 24-4 overall.

Brandon Lantos, Clover boys’ wrestling: The Blue Eagles’ senior won the 5A state title at 175 pounds at Anderson Civic Center, Feb. 24. Lantos was 36-2 overall this season.

Victoria Morris, South Pointe girls’ basketball: The 5-foot-11 senior scored 27 points, had eight rebounds, six steals and three assists in a 63-61 loss at Riverside in the third round of the 4A state playoffs, Feb. 21.

Morris averaged 18.3 points, 10.1 rebounds, 3.9 steals and 1.9 assists per game for a South Pointe team that finished the season 26-3 overall.

Nichya Pemberton, Lancaster girls’ wrestling: The Bruins’ junior won the 170-pound title at the 4A state championships at Anderson Civic Center, Feb. 24.

Pemberton became the first Lady Bruin to win an individual state title in school history.

Alyssa Ramadanovic, Legion Collegiate girls’ lacrosse: The Lancers’ senior attacker scored eight goals and had two assists in a 16-4 win over Spring Valley in the season opener, Feb. 22.

The next day, Ramadanovic poured in seven more goals in an 18-6 victory over White Knoll.

Ramadanovic has 17 goals and five assists for Legion Collegiate (2-1) this season.

Tamia Watkins, Andrew Jackson girls’ basketball: The 6-foot-2 junior scored 37 points to go with 12 rebounds and eight steals in a 70-46 win at Woodland in the third round of the 2A state playoffs, Feb. 20.

Watkins followed that up with 19 points, 21 rebounds and a steal in a 56-33 win over Bishop England in the 2A Lower State Championship game, Feb. 24.

Watkins is averaging 26.4 points, 11.8 rebounds, 4.7 steals, three assists and 2.2 blocks per game for an Andrew Jackson team (26-4) that has won 20 straight games this season.
