Diners at a restaurant in Australia were treated to quite the spectacle when a waitress took on a giant lizard in the establishment.

The showdown took place at Mimosa Winery in New South Wales. Samia Lila was busy serving customers when one of them grabbed her hand and pointed at the enormous reptile.

At first she thought it was a “big dog,” but then she suddenly realized it was a goanna lizard.

The reptile went under a customer’s table, sparking a massive screaming frenzy.

“Everyone was screaming, so I started screaming too,” Lila told the Sydney Morning Herald.

The 25-year-old waitress attempted to block the lizard’s path by putting a chair in its way. She then grabbed it by the tail with her bare hands and dragged it out of the restaurant. Customers looked on in amazement and many of them cheered Lila’s efforts.

“I was just like a kid. I thought, ‘I want to do it, I want to do it, I know it’s bad, but it was getting close to customers,'” she told the paper. “I wasn’t scared. I like reptiles, so I was a bit excited.”

Lila is now known at her restaurant as ‘Goanna Girl.’
