Wallaby sisters do a 'switcheroo' in Czech zoo

STORY: These sister wallabies are caring for each others' joeys

Location: Decin Zoo, Czech Republic

"We have been breeding the red-necked wallabies here for 30 years but never before has anyone experienced the mother taking care of a foreign baby in her own pouch."

and her albino sister

have become a sensation among visitors

[Alena Houskova, Spokeswoman / Decin Zoo]

"We were lucky this year getting an albino baby of the albino mother. We noticed something of a rarity when the mother with the classical-colored baby somewhat adopted the albino baby, inviting him into her own pouch and letting him drink milk. And it also works the other way when her baby is visiting the albino mother."

While albino wallabies aren't rare, they would struggle to survive in the wild
