Welcome To ErotikaLand, The Sex Theme Park With Penis-Shaped Bumper Cars
Theme parks are full of thrill seekers, but potential visitors to a planned site in Brazil will be seeking a different kind of thrill.
Businessmen want to open an adults-only sex theme park near the city of Piracicaba close to Sao Paulo, complete with genitalia-shaped bumper cars and snack bars serving aphrodisiac food.
The park will be called ErotikaLand and could open in 2018, with a £70 entry fee.
However, concerns have been expressed about the plans, with one politician voicing fears about it attracting “debauched individuals”, even though actual sex will be forbidden at the park.
“We cannot be known as the capital of sex,” Matheus Erler, from the Christian Socialist Party, told The New York Times.
The businessman behind the park, Mauro Morata, said he is searching for a suitable site and hopes to create 250 new jobs.
He also pointed out that ErotikaLand will take a “healthy” approach to sex, and will include a museum on the history of sexuality, while staff will promote the use of condoms.
Like all theme parks, there will also be traditional rides such as a Ferris wheel and bumper cars - except they will be shaped like genitalia.
And there will be no sex on site.
“This won’t be a place for nuns, but it’s not like we’re trying to recreate Sodom and Gomorrah,” said Mr Morata.
“If attendees want to take things to another level, they can go to a nearby motel — which we will operate.”
