Wells Adams says he needed 'six Excel spreadsheets' to follow Aaron's story on “Bachelor in Paradise”

Wells Adams says he needed 'six Excel spreadsheets' to follow Aaron's story on “Bachelor in Paradise”

Each week, Bachelor in Paradise bartender/de facto therapist Wells Adams will share his insights about the latest ridiculous happenings on the beach. This week, Wells shares his thoughts via email on Tanner's tough talk with Kat, Brayden's treatment of Rachel, and Aaron's very confusing explanation about his ex-girlfriend(s).

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: I was sad to see Kat's birthday cake still languishing in the surf. Did anyone apologize to the Paradise pastry chef for this crime against dessert?

WELLS ADAMS: Over the years, we have sent many a Playa Escondida baker into a deep depression for severe violence towards cake. It is sad because I was hungry and would have loved to enjoy a slice. But much like Kat and Tanner's relationship, that cake was never meant to last.

Becca arrived and asked Brayden on a date, and it was surprising how fast he said yes after he and Rachel had such a good date the day before. Given how hurt he was when Kat quickly accepted a date with Tanner, were you surprised he wasn't a bit more considerate about Rachel's feelings?

I have been on Team Brayden all season, but I agree, I hated how he acted when Becca asked him on a date. In Brayden's defense, he is just a happy-go-lucky flirty guy, but dude... come on! At least pretend it's a hard decision for you!

Tanner, who now wants to get to know Davia, tried to let Kat down easy this week. But then he said, "I love you as a person for sure... but when I'm thinking about what I want in a wife, there are just certain things that maybe we're just a little bit different." On a scale of 1 (slightly uncomfortable) to 10 (full-body cringe), what was your reaction to that statement?

I'm not sure if I've ever seen an "It's not me, it's you" used in Paradise, but jeez was it tough to watch! But I also loved how Kat went into full "You can't dump me because I dump you first" mode. Ahhhh, Paradise. Chef's kiss.

Speaking of Kat, she was doing the most this week. Which shocked you more — her going after John Henry right in front of Olivia, or her waiting until now to pass on Charity's alleged warnings about Aaron to Eliza?

At this point, nothing Kat does or says shocks me. But boy, oh boy, do I love it. The two most outspoken women fighting after one guy — thank you, Paradise Gods! My only complaint about Kat dropping the tea to Eliza was where she decided to do it. You couldn't wait till after everyone was done peeing to release that info?

Eliza did finally ask Aaron B about what Kat said, and he gave a long-winded explanation about what happened with his "disgruntled" ex-girlfriend(s). What did you think of how Aaron handled that conversation?

Aaron also told me the story and gave me the timeline. I needed a cork board, red string, and six Excel spreadsheets to understand what he was talking about. I'm not sure if I even understand now! When defending yourself, sometimes less is more.

Finally, Wells, can you please do something about Brayden's rapping? Why must producers encourage him?

Can a tiger change his stripes? No. Can a Brayden change his rapping and earrings and scarves and his everything? Also, no. But honestly, would you want him to? (Don't answer that.)
