Western Idaho Fair reveals five ‘unforgettable’ concerts — and a one-day flash sale

Country singer Jon Pardi drew a massive 17,200 fans to his Western Idaho Fair concert in 2021.

The Western Idaho Fair has unveiled its grandstand concert lineup — and given price-conscious Boise music fans an extra reason to get excited.

Five shows will highlight the annual event, which takes place Aug. 18-27 at Expo Idaho. But you won’t need tickets to see the live music. Grandstand concerts are free with paid fair admission.

The fair is offering a one-day “flash sale” on Monday, April 17. Ten admission tickets can be purchased for $75 — or $7.50 per ticket — at idahofair.com. The normal advance ticket price is $10 for an adult.

As always, the grandstand lineup in 2023 will include a variety of entertainers with wide appeal. “Attendees can expect an unforgettable experience,” the fair promised in a media release.

T.I. — Monday, Aug. 21: The rapper has won three Grammy Awards and is known for hits such as “Whatever You Like” and “Live Your Life.”

Smash Mouth and Spin Doctors: Tuesday, Aug. 22: This co-headlining show will feature two familiar rock bands. Smash Mouth’s biggest song is 1999’s “All Star.” Spin Doctors are remembered for the singles “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong” in 1992 and “Two Princes” the following year.

Jimmie Allen — Wednesday, Aug. 23: After landing radio hits in 2018 (“Best Shot”) and 2019 (“Make Me Want To”), Allen was the Country Music Association’s New Artist of the Year in 2021.

Bush — Thursday, Aug. 24: The British alternative-rock band will crank up guitar-heavy favorites from the 1990s such as “Glycerine,” “Machinehead” and “Everything Zen.”

Justin Moore — Friday, Aug. 25: No stranger to Idaho, Moore performed at the Albertsons Boise Open in 2019. He’s known for No. 1 country songs such as “Til My Last Day” and “If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away.”

Grandstand gates will open at 6 p.m. for all concerts, which begin at 7:30 p.m. All shows are first-come, first-served. If a concert reaches capacity, fans will be allowed inside when others exit.

Expo Idaho is located at 5610 N. Glenwood St. Advance tickets to the fair cost the same price as last year: $10 adult, $9 senior 62 and older, $8 child ages 6 to 11. Children 5 and younger get in free.

Carnival wristbands are $32 in advance — up two bucks from last year. However, wristbands now include access to the Skyride, which traverses the fair. That wasn’t the case last year.
