What does Yu Darvish's 2019 second-half say about his fantasy value in 2020?

One of the best starting pitchers in baseball last season was the Chicago Cubs’ Yu Darvish ... in the second half.

After starting things off in rocky fashion — especially with walk troubles — Darvish completely turned things around after the All-Star Break.

Scott Pianowski and Rotowire’s Scott Jenstad discuss Darvish’s outlook for 2020 in the video above.

Some numbers for context on the Cubs’ hurler: In the first half of the 2019 season, Darvish compiled an unseemly 5.01 ERA, a 1.34 WHIP with 49 walks in 97 innings.

But in the second half: 2.76 ERA, 0.80 WHIP, and a mere seven walks in 81.2 innings.

Darvish clearly figured something out, be it how to stop the base-on-balls, simplifying his pitch repertoire, or maybe he just needed some confidence back.
