Canadians coast to coast to coast are observing Remembrance Day in their communities this weekend.

In Windsor, there's been a series of city-run events in November in honour of Remembrance Day.

It also means some municipal services will be tweaked in the city on Monday, since Nov. 11 is a Saturday.

The city's administration offices will be shut down in belated observance — with the next council meeting scheduled for Nov. 27.

All locations of the Windsor Public Library will be closed Saturday and reopen Monday.

Windsor's 311 call centre will also be on pause on Monday. It reopens Tuesday at 8 a.m. Online services and information remain available — including access from its mobile app.

The city's municipal ticket payment offices will be shut down Monday. However, tickets can still be paid online.

What's still open in Windsor?

Windsor's Homelessness and Housing Help Hub, run out of the former Windsor Water World building, will not be closed for the holiday.

Transit Windsor buses are operating on their normal schedules both Saturday and Monday.

The city's public drop-off and household chemical waste depots will be also be open as usual Saturday and Monday.

Residential garbage and recycling collection will proceed on their regular schedules, says city staff, and not be delayed for the week of Nov. 13.

The 211 Windsor-Essex service will remain available 24 hours a day. It's an information and referral tool for residents in the city and county to connect with community and social services.

All parks and arenas will be open.

Same goes for the indoor pools at the WFCU Centre, Gino and Liz Marcus Community Complex and Windsor International Aquatic and Training Centre.

The doors to the Chimczuk Museum and François Baby House will be open with free admission on Saturday.

Devonshire Mall and Tecumseh Mall are both running normal weekend schedules.
