The role will mark Lisa’s acting debut. Her fellow Blackpink member Jennie made her own screen debut alongside Lily-Rose Depp and The Weeknd in last year’s HBO drama The Idol.
Blackpink — consisting of Lisa, Jennie, Jisoo and Rosé — is a worldwide musical sensation, selling millions of records in their native South Korea. They’ve also broken through in the U.S., with their 2022 album Born Pink hitting number one on the Billboard 200 chart. Blackpink have played the Coachella music festival twice, drawing throngs of rapturous fans each time, and have collaborated with Selena Gomez, Dua Lipa, Lady Gaga, Cardi B and more. A documentary film, Blackpink: Light Up the Sky, debuted on Netflix in 2020.
Lisa joins a growing Season 3 cast of The White Lotus that already includes Walton Goggins, Parker Posey and Carrie Coon, among others. Natasha Rothwell is also set to reprise her Season 1 role as spa manager Belinda. Season 3 is set in Thailand, at another location in the White Lotus luxury hotel chain.
