Who's participating in the presidential parade? What to know on Inauguration Day 2025
President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration is today and part of the pomp will be the presidential parade.
More than 7,000 participants from 23 states are slated to participate in the presidential parade on Monday, according to a release from the Trump Vance Inaugural Committee,
“The committee is grateful and overwhelmed by the outpouring of interest from Americans across the country seeking to participate in one of our nation’s most important and longstanding traditions,” committee co-chairs Steve Witkoff and Kelly Loeffler said in a statement.
Normally held on Pennsylvania Avenue on Inauguration Day, the event is being moved indoors to the Capital One Arena, home of the Washington Wizards NBA team and Washington Capitals NHL team. Inauguration Day events have had to be moved indoors due to dangerously cold conditions that sweeping the country.

When is the presidential parade?
The presidential parade is set to kick of at 3 p.m. ET on Monday, about three hours after the transfer of power.

Where is the presidential parade being held?
Traditionally held on Pennsylvania Avenue starting at the Capitol and ending at the White House, the parade will be held indoors. President-elect Trump confirmed the change of venue in a post on Truth Social.
“We will open Capital One Arena on Monday for LIVE viewing of this Historic event, and to host the Presidential Parade. I will join the crowd at Capital One, after my Swearing In,” Trump said.
The same arena hosted a victory rally for Trump on Sunday.
