The 'Sorry Not Sorry' singer tells PEOPLE she wants to bring the element of surprise on her big day
Demi Lovato wants to keep her bridal look under wraps.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE for this week's issue, the 31-year-old singer reveals she has "a vision" in mind for what she'll wear at her wedding — but she's keeping it a secret from her fiancé Jutes so she can surprise him on the big day.
"I definitely have a vision, but I'm not going to say because I don't want [Jutes] to hear it," teases Lovato, who uses she/they pronouns.
"I think what I want for my dress is [to keep it] secret from him so that he doesn't know what I'm wearing until I walk down the aisle — but we're planning," they add.
Back in January, Lovato told PEOPLE she was already gathering inspiration photos as she kicked off her dress shopping quest.
"I've been thinking about it and saving them to my Pinterest profile. Doing all the things," she said at the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women Red Dress Collection Concert in New York City.
As for the other details of their wedding, Lovato says they're deep into planning — but feeling very "chill" about a process that many brides and grooms find stressful and overwhelming.
"Right now, it's just easy-peasy. Let's get a planner and let's look at venues. So it's pretty calm right now," they tell PEOPLE. "We've got some time."

"I'm sure the stress … whenever it's like, 'Oh no, we have to get a florist and we have to get this and we have to do that.' And I’m sure I'll be stressing about the weather, whatever it is the day of, but I'm also just really looking forward to it," she adds.

Lovato and Jutes, a songwriter and musician, got engaged in December 2023 after first meeting in January 2022. "He fully surprised me, and it was so sweet and the most romantic thing anyone's done for me ever," the "Cool for the Summer" singer recalls of Jutes' proposal.
After popping the question, Jutes presented the two-time Grammy nominee with a bespoke pear-shaped diamond solitaire engagement ring that the couple had picked out together. "It felt from the day I put it on, I was like, 'Oh, this was meant to be there,' " she says of the ring.
Last year, Lovato recounted feeling instantly smitten the first time she saw Jutes, when he arrived to the studio to help work on her 2022 album HOLY FVCK. "He came into the session, and I literally was like, ‘Who is this guy?’ ” they recalled on a September 2023 episode of the LadyGang podcast.
"I texted my friends and was like, ‘Oh my God, the hottest guy just walked in. I am so nervous. I don’t know what to do with myself,' " they continued.
She said the two started out as friends before it grew into more. “He was just so focused on the music,” Lovato recalled of Jutes' professionalism. “So we were friends for a while and then told each other how we felt.”
During an appearance on SiriusXM's The Morning Mash Up last year, she gushed of her then-boyfriend, “I'm super happy. He's my best friend."
