Why Kansas City Chiefs’ 1st-round NFL Draft selection could have local flavor: podcast

How about a Kansas State defensive end from Lee’s Summit as the Chiefs’ first selection in the NFL Draft?

Adding to the local angle, the draft will take place at Kansas City’s Union Station.

Felix Anudike-Uzomah, the Big 12 defensive player of the year for the Wildcats, could be the Chiefs’ first-round pick, as projected by Star beat writer Herbie Teope.

Mock drafts are the definition of inexact science, but over the past three seasons, Teope’s mock drafts have correctly predicted the Chiefs’ drafting of running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (2020), Nick Bolton (2021) and George Karlaftis (2022).

Discussing the draft also provides an opportunity to look at Chiefs needs.
