Wichita is getting an off-leash dog park that doubles as a bar

A new business is planned for Wichita that would combine two things Wichita loves: a dog park and a bar.

Recently, a website and social media accounts for Barks & Brews ICT appeared online. The business, according to its Facebook account, is taking over a building at 1312 E. English that was previously home to a body shop. The building sits across Hyde Park from Central Standard Brewing. It’s a block south of Douglas via Pattie.

Wichita’s first ‘dog bar’ will be membership-based, safe for people and pets, owner says

The Facebook page says Barks & Brews ICT will open in the spring of 2024.

“Barks & Brews is the premiere dog bar and play park in Wichita,” reads the Facebook page. “We are dog owners and love to create an atmosphere where dogs and their owners can enjoy an evening together!”

Barks & Brews ICT, an off-leash dog park with a bar, is taking over an old service garage near English and Pattie.

The page also says that dog lovers will be able to enjoy “delicious libations and dog watch from our full-service bar.” Dogs will be able to roam free in a staffed play park.

The Barks & Brews ICT website also says the venue will offer games and birthday parties.

A commercial plan review for the business was issued by the city of Wichita on Sept. 8 and says that the owners plan to remodel the existing space for the business.

A listing on opencorporates.com says that the owner of Barks & Brews ICT is Kris Withrow, who also has a security business franchise in Wichita called Signal.

I’ve left a voicemail and an email message with the business and will provide an update when more details are available.
