Wind warning issued for south and central Saskatchewan

Environment Canada is warning about a fast moving weather system that's making its way across Saskatchewan today, which could cause damage to buildings.

The Alberta Clipper system will bring strong northwest winds with gusts of up to 90 km/h starting in the early afternoon in the west and moving east.

The system will be followed by a cold front, including flurries and blowing snow. The winds are expected to stay strong in some places overnight.

Environment Canada says damage to shingles or windows may occur, and road conditions could quickly change.

The wind warning affects the following communities:

- Swift Current - Herbert - Cabri - Kyle - Lucky Lake

- Shaunavon - Maple Creek - Val Marie - Cypress Hills

- City of Regina

- Moose Jaw - Pense - Central Butte - Craik

- Fort Qu'Appelle - Indian Head - Lumsden - Pilot Butte

- Assiniboia - Gravelbourg - Coronach

- Estevan - Weyburn - Radville - Milestone

- Moosomin - Grenfell - Kipling - Wawota

- Carlyle - Oxbow - Carnduff - Bienfait - Stoughton

- Outlook - Watrous - Hanley - Imperial - Dinsmore

- Kindersley - Rosetown - Biggar - Wilkie - Macklin

- City of Lloydminster, Alta. / Sask.
