Windsor police investigating fatal Sunday collision involving cyclist

The Windsor Police Service says it's investigating a fatal Sunday afternoon collision involving a cyclist.

The service dispatched officers to the corner of Lauzon Road and Edgar Street around 4 p.m. after a report of a motor vehicle collision, according to a post by the police service on X, formerly known as Twitter.

They learned that a vehicle travelling northbound on Lauzon collided with a cyclist travelling westbound from Edgar to Lauzon.

The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene, police said.

The cyclist died in hospital.

The intersection was closed to traffic for several hours while officers conducted their investigation.

No charges had been laid as of Monday at noon, "pending a fulsome investigation," police said.
