Winnipeg police bust marijuana grow op in River Heights

Two people are facing charges after the Winnipeg Police Service busted an alleged marijuana grow operation in River Heights on Wednesday.

Police said they seized 36 marijuana plants, three pounds of harvested marijuana, about 8.5 pounds of marijuana shake (dried, crumbled marijuana) and equipment with a total estimated street value of more than $74,000 from the home on Niagara Street between Kingsway and Grosvenor Avenue.

A 43-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman were charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and producing a scheduled (illegal) substance.
