A 27-year-old woman died and another person was seriously injured after a vehicle rolled over on Highway 427 in Vaughan late Sunday, Ontario Provincial Police say.

The crash happened at 11:30 p.m. when the vehicle was travelling on the southbound Highway 427 ramp to the eastbound Highway 407.

Police say the driver collided with a concrete wall on the ramp, before it tumbled down the embankment toward Steeles Avenue.

A 27-year-old Mississauga woman who was in the passenger side was thrown from the vehicle and was later pronounced dead at the scene, police say.

The 22-year-old driver was transported to a trauma centre for surgery and he remains in hospital with serious injuries.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
