The Slammys: The Fans Choice Awards will celebrate the very best of WWE over the past year as voted for by the WWE Universe.

Voting is open now at www.wwe.com/slammys and will run until Wednesday (March 27).

The Slammy Awards were first introduced by WWE way back in 1986 – originally to commemorate the release of WWE's first album, the aptly-named The Wrestling Album.

A second ceremony was held in 1987 before the awards were brought back in 1994, running until 1997.

The Slammys were once again resurrected in 2008, this time taking place on a special edition of Raw. This format lasted until 2015 when the awards were once again retired.

In 2020 the Slammy Awards were held on WWE's digital and social media platforms, with Drew McIntyre being awarded Superstar of the Year.

WrestleMania XL takes place on April 6 and 7 from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Night One of the 40th-anniversary WrestleMania will be main evented by the returning Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who will team with Roman Reigns against Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins.

If Rhodes and Rollins win, all members of The Bloodline will be banned from ringside for Rhodes' Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match against Reigns on Night Two.

If Rock and Reigns win, Rhodes will have to challenge for the championship under Bloodline Rules.

Other matches announced for WrestleMania XL so far include Iyo Sky vs Bayley for the WWE Women's Championship and Rhea Ripley vs Becky Lynch for the Women's World Championship.
