Janet Pacey has her pins back.

The well-known Arctic Winter Games pin collector lost her massive collection while travelling to the games in Alaska last month.

Upon arrival, she discovered her collection never made it off the plane. She said her box of 30,000 pins, weighing some 200 pounds, was being held up at customs in Memphis, Tenn.

Now, they're back.

"These things are more well-travelled than I am," Pacey said.

Pacey said she got a call from a friend at Canadian North shortly after sharing her story, who helped her out.

Within a few days, she got text messages from her friend saying her collection had been found.

"It was a mad scramble," Pacey said.

CBC partially paid for Pacey and her pins to travel to Alaska.

Pacey, who lives in Yellowknife, has been collecting pins from the Arctic Winter Games since 2004.

She said her friend told her the collection has been sent to Fed-Ex, but they ended up in Memphis.

"It sort of got put aside for a good two weeks," Pacey said.

To celebrate, Pacey will set up her pin collection at the new Yellowknife Historical Museum this weekend for anyone to come see. She said she also plans to give away some pins.
