Yelp says this is the best cheeseburger in Pennsylvania, and it’ll cost you just $5.99
One of the 50 best cheeseburgers in the U.S. is about a two-hour drive from State College.
Route 66 in Lancaster took online review website Yelp’s recognition for the selling the best cheeseburger in Pennsylvania in 2023.
Yelp put together its list, “Top cheeseburgers in every state in 2023,” by looking at restaurants that have a high number of Yelp reviews with the word “cheeseburger.” The company then ranked the restaurants according to the number of five-star ratings with that word left between Jan. 1 and July 20.
Route 66’s single cheeseburger starts at $5.99, while their double cheeseburger starts at $8.99. For those who are really hungry, you can also order a triple and a quad cheeseburger. According to the online menu, the single cheeseburger is made with a homemade black Angus beef patty and your choice of toppings.
The restaurant has 97 five-star reviews on Yelp as of Wednesday.
“Blown away, simply amazing. I wish I could give these guys more stars than just 5,” one review from September reads.
“Located on a corner on a random street in Lancaster, this is a place not to pass up on. It’s delicious, quiet and clean inside,” another reviewer wrote in May.

Route 66 is located at 45 W. Liberty St., No. 2700 in Lancaster.
Serving American cuisine, the restaurant has several menu options outside of its burgers, including fried chicken, plant-based burgers, salads and ice cream. The entire menu can be found online.
Route 66 is open Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
