Young dancers hit the stage in Woodstock

Smith Dance Academy dancers will pray tribute to jobs and the workers who do them at its 2024 recital this Saturday, May 11, in Woodstock.

Academy director Amanda Boone explained that the recital, themed “You Better Work,” will feature 125 dancers aged three to 16. The young dancers will perform three recitals at noon, 2:30 p.m., and 5:30 p.m. at the McCain Community Theatre in Woodstock High School.

“Dancers will be performing jazz, tap, hip hop, ballet, lyrical, contemporary and musical theatre with a special showcase performance from our competitive team Dance Company at the end of the day,” said Boone.

She explained The Dance Company Showcase will feature dances the young performers successfully completed recently at Take the Stage in Saint John. The dancers impressed the judges, bringing home 15 bronze, four silver and four special awards.

Tickets are available in advance for $12:50. Order forms are available online at Smith’s Dance Academy | Hartford, NB E7M0E1 (smithdanceacademy.com)
