Young Sheldon First Look: Mandy Joins the Family in Final Season Title Sequence — Watch Ahead of Premiere!
Georgie and Mandy aren’t married yet, but we’re pretty sure this makes Mandy an honorary Cooper.
TVLine can exclusively reveal the updated main title sequence for CBS’ Young Sheldon, which kicks off its 14-episode seventh and final season on Thursday, Feb. 15 (at 8/7c).

The updated sequence (as seen above) is the first to feature Emily Osment — aka fan-favorite Mandy — who was elevated to series regular ahead of Season 6. She joins fellow stars Iain Armitage (Sheldon), Zoe Perry (Mary), Lance Barber (George), Montana Jordan (Georgie), Raegan Revord (Missy) and Annie Potts (Meemaw).
“We were always going to update [the main titles, which were last changed in Season 5] because it’s the last season,” executive producer Steve Holland tells TVLine. “And honestly, there were a couple of [other] reasons: Mandy and the baby being a big part of the storyline moving forward — and now being part of the family, it felt right to include them — and, also, the kids just get older and older.”
Referring to the previous refresh introduced in Season 5, he says, “You have a main title [sequence] where Sheldon goes up to his mom’s shoulders, then in the first episode of [Season 7], he’s taller than her. For us, it’s a nice way to mark the passage of time.”
We also used the opportunity to ask Holland about the pose — you know the one, where the entire family looks up toward the Texas sky. What, exactly, are they supposed to be looking at?
“It’s so funny that you bring that up because we talked about that,” Holland says. “It was a big joke on the set as we were shooting it. There was a lot of, ‘What are we looking at?’ And it’s like the briefcase in Pulp Fiction: I know what’s in there, but I can’t tell you.
“It’s really just a superhero pose,” the EP reveals. “But there were a lot of questions from the actors, like, ‘What exactly are we looking at up there?’ And I think I said that it’s like a Rorschach test: It says a lot about you what you think you’re looking at.”
Young Sheldon Season 7 premieres Thursday, Feb. 15 at 8 pm on CBS (and streams next day on Paramount+). In the interim, watch the video below to see the evolution of the Big Bang Theory spinoff’s opening credits, then hit the comments and tell us if you’re pleased to see Osment added to the main titles.
