‘Young Sheldon’ Spinoff About Georgie and Mandy Ordered to Series at CBS
A “Young Sheldon” spinoff series about Georgie and Mandy has officially been ordered at CBS for the 2024-2025 broadcast season.
Montana Jordan and Emily Osment will reprise their roles in the untitled series, which will follow Georgie and Mandy as they raise their family in Texas. Unlike “Young Sheldon,” the series will be a multi-camera comedy as opposed to a single-cam. It was first reported as being in the works back in January.

The new series is created Chuck Lorre, Steven Molaro, and Steve Holland. All three served as the producing team behind both “Young Sheldon” and the mothership show “The Big Bang Theory.”
“It has been a privilege to spend the last seven years with Sheldon and the Cooper family and now this wonderful journey will continue with Georgie and Mandy,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment. “Chuck and both Steves have done a masterful job developing these characters and entertaining generations of fans with relatable, heartwarming stories brought to life by Montana and Emily. We eagerly look forward to the next chapter in this beloved universe.”
News of the spinoff series order comes as “Young Sheldon” is in the midst of airing its seventh and final season. The final season kicked off on Feb. 15, as its premiere was delayed by the production shutdown caused by the dual writers’ and actors’ strikes in 2023.
“From ‘The Big Bang Theory’ to ‘Young Sheldon,’ the world of the Cooper family has been incredibly special to us,” said Lorre, Molaro, and Holland. “We’re very excited to continue their stories through the eyes of Georgie and Mandy.”
Lorre, Molaro and Holland all serve as executive producers on the spinoff series. Chuck Lorre Productions, Inc. produces in association with Warner Bros. Television.
The spinoff series means that Lorre’s tenure at CBS will continue. Lorre has had at least one series on the broadcast network going back to 2003. In the past 20 years he has co-created and executive produced shows for the network including long-running hits like “The Big Bang Theory,” “Two and Half Men,” “Mom,” and “Young Sheldon.”
Jordan is repped by Alchemy Entertainment and Brecheen Feldman Breimer. Osment is repped by CAA, Entertainment 360, and Edelstein, Laird & Sobel.
