Zarqa Nawaz speaks out against Ottawa shooting
Muslims across Canada are condemning the shooting that happened at Parliament Hill on Wednesday. Michael Zehaf-Bibeau shot and killed a guard, Cpl. Nathan Cirillo, at the National War Memorial. Zehaf-Bibeau is described as a recent Muslim convert.
Zarqa Nawaz says she hopes Canada doesn't get sucked into the same fear that was prevalent after the September 11 terrorist attacks in the United States. The creator of Little Mosque on the Prairie says the act was cowardly and does not represent Islamic beliefs.
Friday morning she will be speaking with the Morning Edition's Sheila Coles about her reaction to the events in Ottawa.
