A Montana man appears to have fallen for the wrong woman after his new bride confessed to shoving him off a cliff only a week after the wedding.
Associated Press reported a Cody L. Johnson from Kalispell, Montana married Jordan Linn Graham at the end of June and a friend of the groom said he was in love and excited to be wed.
However, according to an affidavit posted online by The Missoulian states the couple was walking in Glacier National Park about a week after the wedding, and the two of them were having an argument.
A friend of the couple's told authorities Graham had texted her saying she was having second thoughts about the marriage.
The next day, July 8, Johnson was reported missing after he didn't turn up for work, and Graham told officers the last time she had seen him he was leaving the house in a black car. But then, Graham reported seeing her husband's body and her story changed.
According to the affidavit, she told police she had, in fact, been arguing with her husband on a steep trail the evening of July 7, and the situation escalated to a murderous level.
At one point in time during their arguing, Graham turned and began to walk away. She stated Johnson grabbed her by the arm. Graham turned and removed Johnson’s hand from her arm. After removing Johnson’s hand from her arm, Graham stated she could have just walked away, but due to her anger, she pushed Johnson with both hands in the back and as a result, he fell face first off the cliff.
Graham is in custody and she's been charged with second-degree murder, according to the Associated Press.
