Shark wrestling hobbyist fights 7-foot shark for fun

When Sharknado reaches the shores of North America, at least one man will be ready.

Elliot Sudal has a hobby as absurd as the film about a tornado full of sharks that's been amusing audiences this week. He loves shark wrestling, according to ABC's Good Morning America, and he fought one measuring seven feet long this weekend.

Sudal said he was fishing in Nantucket, Mass., when he noticed some bluefish that looked chewed, perhaps by the jaws of a hungry shark. He put one of the nibbled fish on his line to bait a shark and a few minutes later he pulled one into shore.

The shark-wrestler told ABC he spent about 45 minutes wrestling with the shark before releasing it back into the water. Undersea rumour has it the shark tried to complain about illegal wrestling moves and call for a time out but the human referee didn't understand its thrashing. We'll call this match a draw.

Sudal said he wanted to break the world record for catching the largest hammerhead shark. Guinness World Records has no record online for hammerhead sharks, but the Tampa Bay Times reported in 2006 that an American fisherman had caught one that measured 14 feet and weighed 1280 pounds.

Keep training, shark man, the world will need you in a future when sea creatures and natural disasters join forces against humans.
