World’s largest Lego tower built in Brazil

After four intensive days of building, the world's largest Lego tower has been completed in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

More than 500,000 Lego pieces went into building the impressive structure. The 31-metre tower beats the previous record set in Chile by about 23 cm.

Lego, a Denmark-based company, sent designers to Brazil for the big event.

Children took part in the massive construction, aided by young-at-heart Lego experts and crane operators.

Cafu, a former Brazilian football star, placed the final bricks on the tower from a cherry picker.

This marks the 44th city to erect a Lego tower — the first was built in London in 1988.

The Sao Paulo tower will remain on display until April 14th.
