Colleen Jones, Scott Jones rappel down 1801 Hollis

The CBC's Colleen Jones and gay rights activist Scott Jones — no relation — are among dozens of people who took the plunge, rappelling from Halifax's tallest office tower.

The palm-sweat inducing, 23-storey drop took place at 1801 Hollis Street.

The event is in support of Easter Seals Nova Scotia and money raised supports "programs that promote mobility, inclusion and independence for Nova Scotians with disabilities," according to the Easter Seals website.

"Drop Zone is an adrenaline-fuelling and exhilarating rappel which enables you to be a superhero for a day."

Participants are required to meet a minimum fundraising goal of $1,500.
